Esta noche los Game Awards 2021 premiaron a lo mejor y más destacado de la industria de los videojuegos, luego del anuncio de los nominados y el proceso de votación, en una ceremonia en la que no hubo tantas sorpresas pero que aun así nos mantuvo entretenidos a lo largo de sus casi cuatro horas de duración hasta el momento en que It Takes Two se llevó el codiciado GOTY, o Juego del Año.
El show abrió con una increíble presentación en vivo de Sting, con una versión sinfónica de «What Could Have Been» de Arcane, la serie animada de League of Legends. La orquesta de los Game Awards ciertamente dio la talla en cada una de sus apariciones, incluyendo una junto a Imagine Dragons en la que no sólo pudimos escuchar «My Enemy», también de Arcane, sino igualmente un homenaje a Bastion por su aniversario:

Por el lado de los anuncios, la ceremonia de este año no decepcionó a nadie, trayendo material completamente nuevo y en ocasiones inesperado para todos los fanáticos de los videojuegos. Pudimos ver lo que viene para Star Wars, Wonder Woman, Hellblade II, Horizon Forbidden West, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Saints Row, una versión muy especial de Fall Guys, un DLC de Cuphead y muchos más, incluyendo un nuevo trailer del ganador a Juego Más Esperado (por segundo año consecutivo), Elden Ring., que tiene una nueva fecha de estreno: 25 de febrero del 2022.
Y así concluyó la ceremonia de los Game Awards 2021, con algunas sorpresas pero definitivamente con victorias muy merecidas para todos sus ganadores. Ahora sólo nos queda seguir jugando y esperar hasta el 2022 por una nueva edición.
