Por sexta ocasión, The Game Awards busca premiar a lo mejor y más destacado de la industria de los videojuegos, llevando a cabo su ceremonia el día de hoy en Las Vegas luego del proceso de votación online. Muchas eran las apuestas, y al anunciarse los nominados parecía que Death Stranding sería el gran favorito de esta edición, aunque eso no significa que no tuvimos más de una sorpresa en los Game Awards 2019, como Disco Elysium arrasando con todas sus nominaciones.

Y por supuesto, el GOTY: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Sin embargo, esta ceremonia no sólo entrega los premios, sino que también es la ocasión propicia para el anuncio de nuevos títulos y novedades de las franquicias más populares del mundo de los videojuegos, y para presentaciones musicales, como las de Green Day, Chvrches y Grimes.

Respecto a los anuncios, tuvimos el lanzamiento del trailer cinemático de Godfall, un nuevo título looter-slasher de fantasía que llegará para PlayStation 5 y la Epic Games Store en navidades del 2020:

Bravely Default llegará para el Nintendo Switch el próximo año, un nuevo RPG original de los creadores de la serie Bravely y Octopath Traveler:

Ninja Theory hizo el debut a nivel mundial del trailer de Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, la siguiente entrega en la franquicia de Hellblade:

Todos estamos esperando con ansias la llegada del remake de Final Fantasy 7, y esta noche no salimos decepcionados, pues tuvimos un nuevo trailer en el que pudimos ver mucho más de cómo será nuestro regreso a este legendario título de Square Enix:

Fortnite es quizá el juego más popular en este momento, y no podía quedarse por fuera de esta noche de anuncios, revelando que tendrá un evento de Star Wars a partir de este 14 de diciembre, justo a tiempo para el estreno de El ascenso de Skywalker.

Apex Legends tendrá su propio evento, aunque el suyo será de temática navideña, tal como descubrimos cuando Mirage interrumpió la transmisión de los premios para dar el anuncio.

Así mismo, supimos que el Joker llegará a Mortal Kombat 11, en un anuncio que estuvo cargado de su particular risa y que promete bastante violencia.

PlayerUnknown es conocido por PUBG, pero esta noche revelaron un misterioso teaser de Prologue, el nuevo proyecto de esta compañía.

Travis regresa en un nuevo trailer extendido de No More Heroes 3, y el reto para él continúa cuando todo se ponga más extraño de lo normal y deba eliminar una amenaza que parece hacer todo demasiado gelatinoso y de color rosado:

Los co-creadores de Dishonored y Prey nos traen Weird West, un nuevo RPG que nos mostrará el viejo oeste en una forma mística y sobrenatural:

¿Lo suyo son los juegos de terror? Pues volveremos al bosque en Sons of the Forest, un nuevo título de horror y supervivencia que promete aterrarnos por un largo rato:

Ori and the Blind Forest nos encantó a todos, y esta noche recibimos un nuevo adelanto de su secuela, Ori and the Will of the Wisps:

Todavía no hemos tenido oportunidad de jugar Ghost of Tsushima, pero si hay algo que ha caracterizado a este título hasta ahora han sido sus presentaciones, y la de The Game Awards 2019 no fue la excepción, con la orquesta tocando en vivo el tema del juego y revelando un nuevo trailer:

Michelle Rodriguez y Vin Diesel son dos de los rostros más reconocidos de toda la saga de Rápido y Furioso, y precisamente fueron ellos los encargados de presentar el trailer de Fast & Furious Crossroads, que llegará a PC, PS4 y Xbox One en mayo del 2020.

Y luego de todo esto, culminó la ceremonia de entrega de The Game Awards 2019, reconociendo lo mejor y lo más popular de la industria de los videojuegos gracias a los votos de los fanáticos. Sin duda, el año que viene podremos ver a varios de los títulos revelados esta noche entre los nominados, y veremos quién hereda la corona de Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice como GOTY en el 2020.
